Do Corrie fans want Tracy Barlow back?

In our latest poll on the blog we asked if fans were looking forward to having Tracy Barlow back on Coronation Street. 126 fans voted with the result only slightly in favour of seeing Tracy back. The votes were cast as follows:

Let her out - 52%
Keep her locked up - 48%

Me? I really don't want her back on the Street at all, under any circumstances. She was put away for 15 years for the manslaughter of Charlie Stubbs. But she's also clearly not right in th'ead and I'll never forgive Corrie for making her a murderering psycho instead of giving her the brains and the nouse to slap on an extra bit of lippy, take her daughter out of harm's way and simply walk away with a bit of pride left intact. It's what Elsie Tanner would have done.

She's a good character IMO, and I would be happy to see her back for a short term storyline maybe from inside prison or for Blanche's funeral. But I do not want her back as a regular character because like you said she got 15 years in jail, and if she got released that would be very unrealistic and unfair.

I prefer things realistic, so keep her locked up.Let her finish her sentence and learn something.

Besides, the writers enjoyed writing nastiness too much with her character. It was unredeemed and got very tedious.

A murderer... cold-blooded... so she shouldn't be out. Simple. Kate Ford should also stay out for crimes against acting.

I would like to see Tracyluv back for a cameo, i.e. Blanche's funeral but would NOT like to see her back on the Street full time. It wouldnt be believable for a start and she caused trouble for Karen and Steve it would just be groundhog day for her to do the same for Becky and Steve. Some characters come to a natural end and should not be brought back again.

Having said that, I'd love to see her clash with the new Mrs Mac. She'd meet her match there, methinks!

No, please - noooooooo! Unrealistic and extremely boring to have to watch her again. The writers had their chance and blew it by overdoing it.
