You have to be a part of a casting agency. I act and ITV sent me a list of all the northern agencies who deal with Coronation Street. Let me know if you want it I might be able to dig it out.

Hi, After joining casting agencies I finally got chance to film a scene as an extra in the Rovers. Best days work ever. Cast and crew make you feel part of it - even if its just for one day. From this I have gone on to do other stuff on TV. Its hard work, long days and you can't do it to make a living. But get some experience and one day you could walk the cobbles !

If it helps anyone I've just been an extra. I did a bit of looking around noticed that the Janet Howe agency supplies some of the extras. It's changed names now to seven casting. I went through them. Really enjoyed it.
